Both our churches are places of community for people of all ages and backgrounds.

The Undercroft Hall

Many local community groups such as the Brownies, Musical Teapots, Little Fishes, and Pilates use the Undercroft Hall.  Please see Hall for Hire.

The Morning Coffee Shop

The Coffee Shop is a popular and friendly meeting place.  It opens at St Andrew’s Undercroft once a month on a Wednesday between 10 am and 12 noon (as advertised in the weekly notices).  Do come and join us – bring a friend – and sell your unwanted goods or home produce – cakes, jams, garden produce, etc. on the sales table.  You can bring up to five items; please label them clearly with your name and price.  We would like a donation to funds if they sell, but unsold goods need to be taken home with you. To find out more, please contact Brenda West on 01707 873758.

Church Book Stall

This stall is run by Julian Taylor who can be contacted on 01707 886990.   It has a wide variety of Christian books and also greetings cards for various occasions.

Parish Magazine

We welcome contributions to our magazine, which is published five times a year.  Please send contributions to the editor, Wendy Keeling-Taylor wendy.keeling@ntlworld.com or call 01707 886990

Harvest Supper

This event is one of the highlights of Autumn and has been enjoyed by an increasing number over the years.  It is held at Northaw Village Hall and all who come can be sure of fantastic food, warm company and lively entertainment.

Christmas Fayre

A warm welcome, cheerful hospitality and a good variety of quality gifts bring the community together in Cuffley and make this occasion very popular and enjoyable for both stall holders and ‘customers’.

Parish New Year Party and Pantomime

We have a New Year’s Party in the middle of January along with a parish pantomime.  Great fun is had in rehearsal as well as on the day.  This is an event for all the family, and Cuffley Hall is always full to overflowing.

Parish Outing

Every year we enjoy a summer outing, bringing our friends along.  In recent years we have visited

Blenheim Palace, Princess Diana’s home at Althorpe, Kew Gardens and Highclere Castle (otherwise known as Downton Abbey).

Drama

We have presented such plays as Murder in the Cathedral, A Midsummer Night’s

Dream and Henry V at St Thomas a Becket Church.  These are always well attended and have enabled both young and old to participate. Take a look at our Gallery pages for more pictures.

Church Choirs

The combined choir of St Thomas and St Andrew sings at our Sung Eucharist and at special services throughout the year. The annual Christmas Carol Service is a particular highlight.  New members are always welcome.

Bell Ringers

A band of bell ringers is based at St Thomas a Becket Church and new ringers (beginners or experienced ringers) are always welcome.

Little Fishes

This happy group of tots (0 to 5) and parents meets in the Undercroft on Monday mornings during term time, from 10 to 11.30 am for play and songs (and for the grown-ups a welcome cup of coffee and chat).  For more information please contact Bonnie Fisher fisher.yd4@o2.co.uk
